Shri Raghvendra
Jyotish Sansthan Trust

Introduction and Vision

Vedic Astrology, or Jyotish, holds a revered place in the vast expanse of Vedic wisdom, often celebrated as the "Fourth Eye of the Vedas." Originating in the sacred land of Bharat (India), the birthplace of the Vedas. Jyotish is just a tool for prediction but a beacon for personal growth and societal well-being.

Jyotish is far more than a profession, a commercial pursuit and a tool for prediction it is a sadhana, a sacred spiritual practice. It demands dedication, purity of intent, and a commitment to serve humanity with humility and integrity. The practitioner becomes a beacon for personal growth and societal well-being when this dharmic lens is adopted.

Our trust envisions illuminating this timeless, dharmic wisdom by promoting academic research in Jyotish, providing thought leadership, transformative insights and tools derived from academic research, oral traditions and guru-shishya parampara, to preserve and pass on this wisdom of Bharat. Above all, the trust is dedicated to support the revival-wave initiated by the Government of India and contribute to the preservation, promotion and proliferation of Indian knowledge systems and Sanskrit through sustained efforts, realizing the eventual aim of serving humanity with purpose, integrity, and compassion.

Shri Raghvendra Panchang

Shri Raghvendra Panchang is Jammu’s sole panchang since its inception in 2001. A panchang is unique in its quality of being both research and impact based product as it connects to everyday lives of the masses. The lay understanding about a panchang is that it is a tool for finding auspicious mahuratams. However, its role is much broader as the practices and rituals a panchang guides us to are unique, vedic wisdom based everyday practices that open us to a potential of leading a more whole and meaningful life. These practices are unique to the Indian subcontinent, passed on through oral wisdom and, must be celebrated, practiced and preserved. Our panchang aims to create awareness about indigenous healing methods and practices, which are becoming obsolete over time and often misinterpreted as limiting. Cumulatively, as everyone practices these rituals with an awareness of their unique relevance, it has the potential to promote harmony, cohesion and building more positive, productive, resilient societies and nations.
